2000 Views, Songs

Neocities stats informs me that I’m over two-thousand site views, and backtracking on the stats, that was either 2025-03-16 or 2025-03-17. At the same time, through midnight, I was catching up on my Spotify Discover Weekly by queuing all thirty songs before Monday refreshed them, which pushed me over the 2000 song barrier on my main playlist.

This symmetry pleases me enough to write a celebration of sorts. So have some music.

2000 songs is a lot to curate, so here's five favourites, five leasts. These aren’t necessarily my top tiers or bottom tiers, just ones that come to mind and more often to loop or skip when they come on.

Favourites:

...Listing some of those made me cringe in admitting I still listen to them on a semi-regular basis.

I’ve been thinking for a while that at 2000 songs, I’m going to finally get off Spotify. I doubt I will completely, Discover Weekly is my main source of recommendations, but now’s the time to start thinking about either a dedicated music player. If nothing else, clearing my downloaded songs is the easiest way to find 17GB of storage on my phone.

And to add to the symmetry, the last song I added from the bout of reccomendations that pushed me over 2000 songs was The Dying Song by Montaigne.
