I've always hated fighting through video editing software to move stuff around. After trying to do a typing text animation, the general consensus seemed to be that using After Effects was the way to go, but that's expensive. I've landed on Cavalry which if nothing else is free aside from on installation, you have to opt out of telemetry, and it asks you to sign in. So I do question what sort of spyware this might be approximating.

Regardless, the workflow was slightly obtuse, but eventually I broke into it and made this:

Which is a start. Already a huge improvement over animating within an editing software in the things I can set up. I'm looking forward to trying to make more interesting stuff.
